Dr. Kathleen D’Avria brings over two decades of experience in education to her role as principal. She began her career at Forestview High School as a high school American history teacher, serving in the classroom for 11 years before becoming the district’s Social Studies Curriculum Facilitator. She went on to lead the opening of Gaston Virtual Academy, serving as its administrator for three years. Most recently, Dr. D’Avria served as the Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, a role she held for five years.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in secondary education from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN, a master’s degree in secondary education from UNC-Charlotte, and both a school administration license and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
Outside of work, Dr. D’Avria enjoys reading, traveling, and running. She is married and the proud parent of three children.
